I intend to use this ome when I get around to it:
http://www.wow-professions.com/wowguides/wow_jewelcrafting_leveling_guide.html

Be advised to powerlevel BS took me 4000 K gold without the mats till level 150. I strarted it but I could have go smarter about it: just want to put it behind me as soon as possible without surveying the market.
In the end more than half of that 4k went to felsteel, thorium and heavy stones if I am not mistaken. But as I said wanted to be faster about it. But for JC I'll wait a bit and then go head on. have to level up BS to 450 as well since I ams stuck to 400 after i got my extra sockets.
Anyways I can help you farm mats till level 150 should be 1 hour running about in the duratar and barrens, and it should save you some gold. For all other you are on your own Very Happy

IMO, tailoring has very little benefits in terms of what you can craft which is unaccessible to others.
1. Cloak embroiders: Lightweave and Darkglow
2. Flying carpets: 60% and 100%

That's it basically at lvl80. The Tailoring-specific pants embroiders give stats identical to those you can buy as Spellthread, they're just much cheaper to make. Another advantage might be the ability to make Ebonweave, Moonshroud and Spellweave (92 hr cooldown).

imagine dainty little you, with your blond hair, new hair-cut and fancy clothes, going around with a big 'ol mining picking under the scorching sun of the barrens to mine copper ore and heavy stones ...

Girls can make men do the work for them (read Auction House).

One thing to consider is that all the gems you need for leveling jewelcrafting can and should be prospected from ores if you want to level JC cheaply. This means that you'll be stuck with ore farming for a while unless you're willing to buy some of the gems from AH which are rarely available, I know this from experience.

I'm switching Temple over from Herbalism to Enchanting this weekend, toying over going JC (dropping Alch) on him too but not decided yet.

Pots and flasks are relatively cheap to buy so I'm not sure we need as many Alchy's as we have.
